Q.6: (a) A construction company has 310 employees who have on average annual salaries Rs. 24,000. The standard deviation of annual salaries is Rs. 500. In a random sample of 100 employees, what is the probability that the average salary will exceed Rs. 24500?

  1. A sample of 100 observations from a populations yielded X =182 and S2= 299. Find 99% confidence interval for µ.

Q.7:   (a)   An experiment was conducted to compare the yields of three varieties of potatoes. Each variety was assigned at random to equal size plots four times. The yields are as follows. Test the hypothesis that the three varieties of potatoes are not different in the yielding capabilities.
