ETH Zurich Fully funded Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme (ESOP)

ETH Zurich is offering scholarships to outstanding students who are interested in pursuing a Master’s degree at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. The ESOP scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, and study expenses for the regular duration of the Master’s program, which is around 3 to 4 semesters. More detail about ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme (ESOP) is as under:

Eligibility:

  • Students must have an excellent bachelor’s degree transcript, with a GPA in the top 10% of their graduating class or equivalent to grade A.
  • Students must not be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program at ETH Zurich.
  • Students must not hold a Master’s degree already.
  • Students must meet the admission requirements of the chosen Master’s degree program at ETH Zurich.

Available Master’s degree programs:

  • Consecutive Master’s programs
  • Specialized Master’s programs

Scholarship benefits:

Application process:

  1. Visit the ETH Zurich website and read all of the information about the ESOP scholarship.
  2. Make sure you are eligible for both the scholarship and the chosen Master’s degree program at ETH Zurich.
  3. Visit the ESOP information webpage and click on the eApply link.
  4. Register for a new account using an active email address.
  5. Log in using the registered account.
  6. Complete the application based on the terms and requirements.
  7. Submit your application before the closing date of the first application window.

Required documents:

  • Pre-proposal for the Master’s thesis
  • Curriculum vitae with an active phone number
  • Other documents required by the chosen study program

Selection process for ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme (ESOP):

The submitted applications will be assessed by the Admissions Committees of the program chosen by applicants. Some applicants might be invited to attend a phone or video call interview in February. The final selection will be done by the Rector of ETH Zurich.

Number of scholarship awardees:

Approximately 60 students will be awarded the ESOP scholarship each year.

Application deadline:

The application deadline for the 2024 academic year is December 15, 2023 at 12:00 Central European Time (CET).
